Twenty-four Tampa Bay-area teams gathered yesterday for fun-filled, hospitality competition at the St. Pete Times Forum in downtown Tampa.
The teams competed in quirky events such as the Water Waiter Relay, Toilet Paper Toss and a brand new game for this year’s event – the Turnstile Ticket Tag. The winning team from each event competed in the finals – the Legendary Laundry Car Race.
When the dust settled in downtown Tampa, only one team walked away victorious. The team from Splitsville, Tinatapa’s and Stump’s Supper Club walked away with the first place trophy, metals and other prizes. Tampa Bay & Company ran away with the second-place prize and the team from the Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center placed third.
The Hospitality Olympics is the official kick-off event to National Tourism Week (NTW), a week-long event which celebrates tourism and its contributions to Hillsborough County. Not only is the Hospitality Olympics the first of many colorful activities to celebrate NTW, it also allows men and women in the industry the chance to network and meet others in their respective fields. NTW also observes the organizations and individuals who support tourism and the Hospitality Industry throughout the Tampa Bay area.
